Welcome!
I’ve been a runner for ages, but in the past 5 years I’ve started racing longer distances for fun. My reasons for doing so have evolved over the years, and I’d like to explore that through these humble posts. Perhaps I’ll work through some of those partially developed thoughts that flit through my brain on long runs and perhaps I’ll even come to a better understanding of myself. Perhaps not. 🙂
I have not always been a whisky drinker. I distinctly remember not enjoying it, even while studying abroad in Scotland. What a wasted opportunity! However, my mother is a fan of the divine beverage, and with some distant Scottish heritage from my father’s side, I just took a bit of acclimatizing, and now I love it. I’m enjoying learning about the distilling process, developing my palate as much as I can and exploring the wide variety of Scotch whisky.
How does running and whisky intersect? In this case, only through my love of both of them.
My expectations for this blog are, well, non-existent at this point. I’ve dabbled in journaling throughout my life – a physical book as an adolescent, a livejournal in college, travel journals while abroad, and a cooking blog as an adult. They all served their purposes and fizzled out due to one reason or another. But I was itching for a place to explore the two main hobbies in my life, so will run for whisky was born.
Let the journey begin. 🙂
